Woodland-themed Easter fun for families
Published: April 16, 2015
Families at Richard House enjoyed a lively Woodland-themed activity day in the sun at the hospice yesterday with all kinds of activities to enjoy.
Half Moon Theatre were in attendance again as they lead drama, music and storytelling sessions throughout the day, while Richard House play specialist Smiya Ahmed led sensory story telling sessions and activities in the sensory room. Seed sowing in the garden proved highly popular, while families also tried a number of arts and crafts activities.
The weather was perfect for the sensory woodland walk round the Richard House gardens, while children also enjoyed a scavenger hunt with children being awarded certificates and Easter eggs, donated generously by supporters, as prizes.
Mother Ruksana Hussain said afterwards: “My son said it’s so much fun coming to Richard House, maybe because he gets undivided attention and a fun day. If I’m not involved with him in an activity due to being distracted by Haider, someone is always there with Mohammed, so thank you for making his day so much more fun”
