West Ham stars visit Richard House

Some of the stars of West Ham United put smiles on faces and brought some festive spirit to the children at Richard House when they paid the hospice a visit last Tuesday.

Mark Noble, Enner Valencia and Joey O’Brien spent the afternoon playing with the children, chatting with the families and even brought a few festive goodies.

Mark Noble wasted no time helping a young girl do some drawings and even picked up a hoover at one point, while Enner Valencia also showed his creative side with a Christmas card for one of the youngsters.

Former West Ham players Sir Trevor Brooking and Joe Cole, along with current team captain Mark Noble are patrons of Richard House, echoing the club’s status as an active supporter of the charity since 2000. Players from the club have been making the annual Christmas visit to Richard House for many years.

Mark Noble says – “It’s only a couple of minutes’ walk from where I used to live and I used to play football in the park over the road. It’s become second nature. I gave all my wedding proceeds to Richard House to help them out and have supported them for the last six, seven years now. I always say it, but the staff here, to look after the kids and the families the way they do is phenomenal. It’s just a real eye opener.”
