Staff at Richard House had an early Valentines Day treat today as four talented pupils surprised them with a sweet feast that they made themselves.

The pupils, who are studying food tech at Rokeby School in Barking had never visited the hospice before but decided to share their passion with eager members of staff.

“The reason we decided to come to Richard House was to bring the children and staff some love for Valentines Day and to impress you all,” said Ali, who is in year 10.

And impress they did, with heart-themed pastries, cup cakes, a two-tirerd cake, and pastries, all made from scratch. One pupil, Jullian, a keen singer and he serenaded the group with a love song.

Jemma Nash, human resources officer at Richard House enjoyed the feast and said: “The boys baked sensational food and it was so great that they chose to share it with us. A huge thank you to everyone and we’re looking forward to working more with Rokeby School in the future.”
