Thank you event for local community
Published: February 12, 2018
On Wednesday 7th February we held a Thank you reception to celebrate the fantastic support we received from groups in the local community.
Our supporters were able to hear first-hand from one of our nurses about the vital work we do at Richard House Children’s Hospice, and what a difference our services make to the children and families that we provide for. East Edge Sisters, a local WI said
We are very proud to have supported Richard House as our charity for 2017 and thank our members for helping us raise money in aid of such a wonderful cause.
They raised an amazing £865.93 for us this year and have a personal connection to Richard House as one of their members June has volunteered with us for over 20 years.
Also in attendance were the The Inner City Circle Club who raised an amazing £177.55. They originally donated £100 to Richard House, then some of their children felt inspired to raise the rest after hearing from a Richard House representative, for which we are very thankful.
The Thames Dragons, a local boating club who raised an amazing £1560.43 said
‘To raise money we paddled 35km from Greenwich to Ham, in West London. We supported Richard House because it is an inspirational local charity!’
As a local charity, we rely heavily on funds raised from the community around us and we wouldn’t be able to continue running our essential services without their incredible hard work. It was a great evening, and a wonderful chance to bring together groups with different interests but a common goal; to support children and families with life-limiting conditions.
