This past weekend Thames Dragons Boat Club rowed their way to our hearts with over a £1,500 donation for Richard House!
They took part in The Great River Race and paddled 21.6miles down the Thames from Docklands in the East to Ham in the west both for their love of paddling and a genuine wish to support the local children’s hospice.
Established in 1993, the East London based, Thames Dragon Boat Club is one of the leading Dragon Boat clubs in the UK. They do regular training at the London Regatta Centre opposite London City Airport thus have had the chance to witness first-hand the importance of the work of the hospice.
Tim Smith, one of the Thames Dragons Boat Club team members said: “The race went very well, we finished in 2 hours 38 minutes and even though the weather was quite rough at times it was a great experience and we are all very happy that the money we raised will help support the children and families of Richard House.”
