Summer fun at Summerfest

Published: August 10, 2015

Richard House was a hive of activity at the weekend, as people from the local community as well as children and families who use the services of the hospice enjoyed our annual festival ‘Summerfest’.

The day was packed with entertainment for all to enjoy, including a drama workshop with Limehouse-based Half Moon Theatre, a bouncy castle, face painting, arts and crafts, sensory fun, food, music, a toy tombola and fancy dress photo booth.

Summerfest, our summer festival, has been held since 2009, and this year’s event saw us open our doors to the wider community once more, as part of its vision of the hospice as a ‘community hub’.

Rachel Flower from Richard House, who helped organise the event, said: “We couldn’t have wished for a better day. It was so amazing to see the community sharing our hospice grounds with families who use the hospice. So many people came together to make it a really special day, and I would like to thank each and every one of them. We can’t wait for next year’s event already!”
