Space-themed half-term fun!

Published: May 26, 2015

Families were treated to an activity day that was out of this world today at the hospice, with our special space-themed fun session.

Aliens, Martians, and extra-terrestrial creatures of all kinds took part in the fancy dress competition. A space quiz challenged all, and creativity was on show with children designing their own aliens and space rockets. Our friends from Half Moon Theatre were at the hospice again, with their space-themed drama activities proving extremely popular.

An interactive space journey allowed everyone to experience what it was like going into orbit, while we also had a dedicated sensory room available for families.

On top of all of this, talented local musicians from Leyton 6th Form College performed popular songs for children and families to enjoy.

Other half term activities in the next few days include Half Moon Theatre visiting again on Thursday for children in our residential area, which will also see a visit by Dr Gee Hee on Wednesday, while our 18+ Young Adult Group meets at St Joseph’s on Friday.  The week finishes with families enjoying a day at the Rambert studios in central London on Sunday.
