Siblings learn new skills with Rambert dance experts
Published: August 4, 2015
As part of the summer programme of activities for families, members of our sibling group are taking part in a five-day project with our friends at Rambert, Britain’s national dance company.
The programme, which is taking place at the Rambert studios in Waterloo, kicked off yesterday with a day based on the theme of identity. Introducing the theme with the uniqueness of their fingerprints and spelling their their own names with sign language, siblings then strengthened their understanding of their identity through a range of dance activities.
Today the programme continues with the theme of journeys (including venturing out onto South Bank itself) before completing with three further sessions next week.
Rambert have been highly involved with Richard House over the past year, and the sibling project is just one of a number of different activities the group have offered for families.
Play services activity coordinator Rachel Flower said: “Siblings really enjoyed the session yesterday and can’t wait for the next four days of the project. What they learn through a project like this can have a truly lasting positive impact on them and we are very grateful to Rambert for providing it to the families free of charge.”
