Shopping for a new sofa in time for Xmas?

If you are, why not do your bit for re-cycling and charity this Christmas and give your lovely old comfy sofa a brand new home by donating it to the Richard House Children’s Hospice charity shop in Barking.

The shop on Faircross Parade always needs donations of good quality furniture to sell.  Depending on the age and condition, a sofa could be sold for anything between £50 and £200, sometimes even more!

Richard House Children’s Hospice provides care and support for local children and their families at the most difficult of times totally free of charge.  All of the children cared for by Richard House have potentially life limiting health conditions.  Over the coming Christmas period £200 could potentially be used to improve our soft-play area, enabling us to buy specialist play equipment to suit children of all abilities.

Louise Hamilton Head of Retail at Richard House told us.  “By donating furniture to our Barking shop, local people can help us make this a very special Christmas for children in our care and by doing so help make some positive lasting memories for their families to cherish for years to come.”  Louise went on to tell us “So long as furniture is in good saleable condition, with relevant safety labelling attached, we can arrange free collection in the local area.”

All profits from Richard House shops go directly to the hospice. If you would like to find out more about donating goods to the Barking shop, please call the manager Veronica or Anne Marie at the shop on 0208 591 9393.
