Runners show colourful support for Richard House

Richard House Children’s Hospice organised a brand new fundraising event on 12th March 2016 in Beckton: the Rainbow Rush, which saw participants wend their way along a unique course of different colour stations around Beckton District Park North.

Those who preferred not to run were invited to sign up as ‘Rainbow Makers’ and threw coloured powder at entrants as they passed by the different stations along the route.

The event was launched by the Pearly King and Queen, who royally opened the race and set the course for the day. Participants also had a chance to get their faces painted and take part in a warm-up session that had participants wiggling their bottoms to party rhythms in the park.

This was not just a fun day out for families, the run also helped raise funds for Richard House Children’s Hospice, and the ongoing work it carries out supporting children and young adults with life-limiting conditions.

This special day wouldn’t have been possible without our wonderful supporters so we wanted to say a very special thank you to the Pearly King and Queen, who royally opened the race, to Gymanda for the warm-up activities, and to our sponsors for their donations of healthy snacks and drinks – Vita Coco Coconut Water, Millennium Group Water & Pantha energy drinks, Bounce Foods Bounce energy balls, Alibi Drink and KIND Snacks.
