Richard House launches Rainbow Makers giving scheme to acknowledge the importance of local business support

With their deep roots in our community, from the people they employ, to the customers and clients they serve, local businesses have always played a vital role at Richard House to not only help fund the services we provide, but to also raise awareness of the support Richard House offers children and families.

Launching the scheme, Anna Bates, Head of Community and Events explained “Richard House needs to raise £2million from voluntary donations each year. The financial support of local businesses is vital to enable us to provide our services free to the children and families who need them and we are delighted to launch Rainbow Makers to show our sincere appreciation of their support”.

The new scheme ‘Rainbow Makers’ invites local businesses to pledge to raise money from donations and staff and customer fundraising to support Richard House in the financial year. In return the Hospice will formally recognise such pledges by offering a variety of levels of acknowledgement, including an invitation to a free local business networking breakfast for any business who pledges to raise over £250 in the year.

Serco in Newham who have supported Richard House for many years advocate the importance of local business support “The Serco team in Newham feel it is important to work with and support the communities that we serve. Over the years our staff have been truly humbled by the dedication and commitment of the Richard House team. We admire the lengths that they go to to ensure that young people in their care, and their families, are given the right level of support they require when they need it the most and always do it with dignity and a smile. Our staff are truly committed to Richard House and provide support in a number of ways, we fundraise thought the year to help with the running costs and also donate materials and our time to brighten up the gardens. For us this has never been about a one off donation but a long term partnership and we look forward to supporting Richard House for many years to come.”
