Prestons to raise £5k for 10k!
Published: April 9, 2015
Staff and clients from Prestons Chartered Accountants are once again lining up this May to run the Bupa 10k for Richard House.
It will be the third time in a row staff from the Ilford-based firm have run the race for the hospice, having raised £11,000 over the previous two years.
Anver Patel, one of the directors at Prestons, said: “We decided to get involved in raising funds for Richard House as we had heard about the work it does in the community. We had raised funds for a national charity before but felt it would be more appropriate to raise funds for a local charity, especially as some of us know of families who have used the services of Richard House.”
This year Prestons have set a fundraising target of £5,000 and Anver says: “The support from the donors and knowing that every penny is going to such a good cause will drive us to the finish line.”
Mary Meekings, head of community and events at Richard House, said: “Prestons have done an amazing job in recent years raising for the hospice. It’s a real team effort from them and the money makes a real difference to children and families at Richard House.”
There are still spaces available to run the Bupa 10k for the hospice on 25 May, with sponsorship reduced to only £100 and registration fee of £25.
