Children and families at Richard House gave a warm welcome to Forest Gate’s Pearly King, of the London Pearly Kings and Queens Society, when he visited to present a cheque for £300.
Shahz Hussain, Community and Events Manager at Richard House said:
Community is at the heart of everything we do and we want to ensure that we continue to be there for children who need us the most. It was a pleasure to invite the Pearly Kings and Queens to the hospice; their outfits lit up the room and their stories kept us all thoroughly entertained. They are an old and proud organisation and long may they continue.
Pearly King of Forest Gate Bob Paice said:
The Pearly Kings and Queens of London started out helping the children of London and I am trying to continue with this long tradition by supporting Richard House Children’s Hospice. They work tirelessly to help children and their families suffering from a life limiting illness and it is a cause that our founder, Henry Croft, would be proud of.
Seeing the joy and happiness that Richard House brings to the children and their families is the reason why I continue to support them year on year. It is a cause that is very dear to me and seeing the children with smiles on their faces makes my work all worthwhile.
