Say hello to Steve…
Published: June 1, 2018
Steve has been volunteering as an ambassador since 2004, supporting our community engagement. He develops relationships and is always ready to give a passionate talk about Richard House to community and religious groups, schools and organisations that are either already supporting us or are considering it.
“Personally thanking those that raise funds for Richard House, and raising awareness of the services provided is key to community engagement”
Outside of volunteering…
… he is an avid West Ham fan, indeed he is a season-ticket holder for the east end football club. His other interests range from bird watching to art galleries. He is also a keen photographer and this has proved invaluable, whether a children’s party or the marathon, Steve is there providing the memorable moments that are so precious to us all.
He chose Richard House to volunteer for, as he says
There are so many charities that enjoy royal patronage and national media coverage, but the support that Richard House provides is right here in the East End community I come from.
When asked what he finds the most rewarding part of volunteering, he said
Changing people’s perceptions about children’s hospice care through presentations and tours of the hospice, and seeing the happiness of children and families from diverse backgrounds taking part together in the activities provided.
