Today is our Family Day, where life-limited children and their families have some fun together at the hospice.
We had some other friends visit us this morning too – Mike the Millipede, Trevor the corn snake, Thelma the Chilean tarantula, Lucy the leopard gecko and Mr Slimey the giant African land snail. The children had a marvellous time and the staff were very brave and even held Mike, Trevor and Mr Slimey.
The children were amazed to find out that snakes have bones, millipedes did indeed have many many legs and some breeds of snail do not need anyone else in order to have baby snails!
One mum said; “It is so good to see all the children together so happy. It means a great deal to us as a family to come to Richard House and see him and his brothers so happy.”
