Less than a month to go till our Guinness World Record attempt!

Published: October 14, 2015

Join us on the 12th of November as Richard House attempts to defend its Guinness world record title for the ‘largest gathering of people dressed as penguins’!

For just £25 supporters can register and get their own penguin outfit, and they’ll join hundreds of other penguins to be officially counted before taking part in a 2km waddle in the shadow of City Hall and Tower Bridge.

The charity set the record in 2013 with a colony of 325 penguins and last year broke it with 373 taking part. Last year more than £30,000 was raised to help children and families who use the services of the hospice, and this year it is hoped £40,000 can be raised.

Richard House patron Tommy Walsh, star of TV’s Ground Force, will host this year’s waddle, supporting and cheering on the penguins.

Events and community fundraiser at Richard House Emma Evans said: “We have had lots of interest in the event this year already but we are still looking for even more people to get their flippers on and be part of a Guinness World Record! Those who can get their own colony (team) together will also be crowned an emperor penguin on the night with special benefits!

“We encourage penguins to raise as much sponsorship as they can as every penny raised goes straight to the hospice and makes such a difference to those children and families who use our services.”
