Jim Carter and Imelda Stauton host an Evening with Richard House

On Tuesday, November 8, Jim Carter and Imelda Stauton, long standing patrons of Richard House, defied their busy schedules to host an Evening with Richard House in Club39 in the iconic Canary Wharf tower.

Friends, existing and new, were invited to find out more about the vital work of Richard House and hear about the newly launched Premium Partners scheme to encourage corporate giving. Richard House need to raise £2m each year from voluntary donations to provide their services free of charge to the children and families they support and the hospice believes this new platform gives corporates the opportunity to have real impact and involvement in the work of the hospice.

Ruksana and Humiara Hussain whose son and brother Haider, 14, receives care at the hospice, gave a moving account of their experiences of the hospice, followed by Clifford Chance partner Michael Crossan, the hospice’s founding Premium Partner, who explained the benefits of his firm being in partnership with the charity.

Jim closed his speech by saying: “We’re encouraging people to develop a real relationship with Richard House. Not many people really know what a children’s hospice is or the reality of living with a child who has a life limiting condition that means they’re not going to see adulthood; the pressure that puts on relationships, mums and dads and siblings. The people who work there have such big hearts. If you get a chance to visit, do as it’s a life-enhancing experience and it’s easy for Imelda and I to support its cause.”
