Inspired to raise funds

Queen Mary Ahlulbayt Islamic Society will be running a series of fundraising events to support our work with life-limited children and their families. Members of the Society visited Richard House in December and said they were inspired to raise funds for the work.
Delaram Zadeh who is President of the Society said: “We chose Richard House for a number of reasons. Firstly, we realise how important their work is in supporting the most vulnerable part of our society, sick children, as well as their families.
“Secondly, as followers of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his Son-in-law Imam Ali (AS) the work of Richard House is important in a different way. Imam Ali (AS) was a patron of orphans and children, he was known for distributing food and charity in the middle of the night by leaving sacks of food outside houses without anyone realising it was him.
“So we would like to honour how much he took care of disadvantaged children by supporting Richard House in this way. This is why our campaign is called the Imam Ali Children’s Campaign.”
So far the group have had a movie night fundraiser and also plan cake sales and a quiz night with the aim of raising over £400.
