Heathway shop to reopen after redecoration

Published: September 24, 2015

The Richard House Children’s Hospice shop in Heathway will re-open on Tuesday morning with a new look and bargains galore, thanks to the generosity of two businesses.

The public is invited to come along to the reopening, from 10am on Tuesday 29 September and enjoy the celebration while checking out autumnal fashion bargains.

The makeover includes new lighting, a cash desk, flooring, paint work, room alterations, electrical and shop fittings with all of the work being done free of charge by the company Cofely and one of their contractors, Concept Building Services.

Brian Stanley, Business Development Manager at Concept Building Services (Southern) Limited, says the team were delighted to be able to help with the refurbishment. “When approached by Cofely, it did not take much persuasion; and like Cofely we try to give back and help the wonderful and worthwhile organisations in the community in which we work.”

“We hope this refurbishment will help the hospice to bring in vital funds so they can carry on doing excellent work with children and their families.”

Louise Hamilton, head of retail at Richard House says: “We are very grateful to all the companies involved, particularly Daniel Hannabuss from Cofely who has been the driving force behind the project. Also thank you to Oasis Fashions, Amtico Flooring and Westbury Filtermation Ltd.”

Shahina Haque, Family Services Manager at the hospice will take on the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially reopen the shop, along with the longest serving volunteers at the shop, Marie Hammond and Shirley Collins who have been volunteering since the shop first opened 16 years ago.

Richard House has six charity shops across East London and Essex, with all money raised going directly to the hospice. These vital funds ensure we are able to provide care year-on-year for children with life-limiting conditions and support for their families. Visit www.richardhouse.org.uk/shops to find out more.

The Richard House Heathway charity shop is at 5 Station Parade, Heathway, Dagenham, Essex, RM9 5AW.
