East London Radio broadcasts the all-time Top 100 favourite songs of East Londoners, while helping local Children’s Hospice

Published: November 19, 2018

East London Radio (ELR), the local online community radio station which recently celebrated its fifth birthday, is launching their first Charity Appeal, supporting the wonderful work of the Richard House Children’s Hospice in Beckton, who care for seriously ill children and support the families across East London, by inviting listeners to give donations for “shout outs” and requests against any of the Top 100 tracks from numbers 100 to 11, or for their favourite singer/band for when they’re played.

The full Top 100 chart will be broadcast in sections in mid-December between 19th and 22nd December.

Corporate/Business enquiries for sponsorship of the Top 10 tracks are welcome to vote@eastlondonradio.org.uk

ELR are inviting individuals and businesses right across East London to get behind this Appeal and smash the £500 fundraising target.

Donations with messages can be left on a special sponsorship page at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/elrtop100

Paul Robinson, Chair of ELR added “This is probably the largest single poll of musical tastes in East London ever undertaken and I am expecting a very diverse and exciting mix of tracks to come from what is one of the most dynamic, multicultural and innovative regions of the UK”

The full Top 100 chart will be broadcast in sections in mid-December between 19th and 22nd December.

All money raised, net of JustGiving charges, goes to the Richard House Trust charity.

Wendy Legano-Bell, community and events manager at Richard House said: “We cannot thank East London Radio enough for supporting us. Working together to look after our local community gives a real lift to everyone. The money raised will make a real difference and bring joy to seriously ill children this Christmas.”
