Chuckle for children – comedy night on Thursday

Book now for a comedy night this Thursday!

Join us for an evening of comedy this Thursday 16 February as six comedians take to the stage in a fundraiser for Richard House. Nathan Caton, Mike Wozniak, Mae Martin, Tom Ward, Alistair Barrie and Larry Dean will join forces in “Chuckle for Children”, with all proceeds from show supporting children and young people at the hospice.

Maisie Cork Arundel, corporate partnerships manager at Richard House says: “Chuckle for Children is a great way for us spread the word about our services, as well as an excellent fundraising opportunity. We are hoping to raise at least £5,000 from this exciting new event which will help us to continue the fantastic work we do!”

The event will take place in Central London at The Great Hall, One Moorgate Place, EC2R 6EA. Tickets are just £20 each  and are available from the Richard House website, via this link or on the door (if available). The show starts at 7.30pm (Doors at 6.30pm).

Mae Martin is a writer and stand-up comedian from Canada. She is the star of Radio 4’s Mae Martin’s Guide to 21st Century Sexuality. Mae has previously appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News, “Lolz Lounge” on BBC Radio 1 and Series 2 of live comedy night Sabotage for BBC Radio 4 Extra.

Comedian, writer, filmmaker and voice-over artist Tom Ward has made a name for himself in comedy as a finalist in the BBC Radio New Comedy Award 2014, Leicester Square New Comedian Final 2013 and NATY Final 2014.

Mike Wozniak is a British comedian, writer, actor and voice artist. Following Wozniak’s debut solo show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2008 he was nominated for the “if.comedy” best newcomer and won the Time Out New Act of the Year Award. He has played the part of Brian in the E4 sitcom, Man Down since 2013.

Since being crowned Scottish Comedian Of The Year at just 23, Larry Dean’s star has continued to rise and rise, with his debut Edinburgh Fringe show Out Now! receiving widespread critical and audience acclaim as well as a Fosters Comedy Award nomination for Best Newcomer. 2016 saw Larry star on Live From The BBC on BBC2, having already appeared twice on BBC Presents: Best Of The Edinburgh Festival.

Alistair Barrie is a comedian, actor and writer. He is a core member of The Cutting Edge team at London’s Comedy Store and has made numerous radio and television appearances around the world. A regular at corporate events and festivals, he has taken seven solo shows to the Edinburgh Festival – his 2012 show “Urban Fogey” and 2015 ‘No More Stage Three’ were both runner up for best show at the Fringe in the Amused Moose Laughter Awards.

Within his first few years on stage, Nathan Caton has picked up several awards including the Chortle Student Comic of the Year award, Broadcast Hotshot. He has written and starred in a pilot for Paramount Comedy entitled The Nathan Caton Show. Since then he has gone from strength to strength, wowing audiences at comedy clubs up and down the UK, and on his numerous TV and radio appearances, with his delightfully charming blend of personal and political comedy.
