Ann Mitchell visits and inspires the film club at Richard House

Last Saturday, Richard House was fortunate enough to be visited by star of stage and screen, Ann Mitchell.

Probably best known for playing Cora Cross in Eastenders, Ann spent time with the young members of our film club, getting a chance to see the work undertaken at Richard House and talking to the young people about their interests and passion for film-making.

She welcomed a range of intuitive and interesting questions from the group as well, and was able to provide our young auteurs with words of wisdom, sharing her own thoughts and story of breaking into the entertainment industry. Finally, the film club youngsters showed Ann some of their very own creations, with the highlight quite possibly being the excellent soap opera, Corrienders!

Ann also met members of the care team and other children staying at Richard house, listening to their stories.

Family Support Services Manager Shahina Haque said, “Thank you to Ann for thinking of us and coming to see the young people. They were inspired by Ann and it was just the right kind of positive motivation they needed. It was a privilege to have her visit us.”

Many thanks also to Richard House supporter Fod Savva who, having dressed as a stormtrooper for last year’s Oscar ceremony at the hospice, was instrumental in arranging this visit.
