Care Events Volunteer
What’s the role?
The primary role of the Events volunteer is to offer support at Family Days, setting up the room, greeting and directing families, supporting activities for family members, supporting individual families, support parent groups/Mum’s group (e.g. organising activities for mums, e.g. aroma therapy, yoga session), support Siblings groups (e.g. befriending siblings throughout the activities, assisting siblings to take part in the activities) while working alongside our team.
What skills do I need?
We are looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic to engage with Richard House families, offer support at events, have good communication skills and are able to work well with others. Experience with working with children, young people or families is desirable. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds with all sorts of skill
How much time will it take?
The time commitment is flexible, depending on the number of events at Richard House, but you will be asked to be involved with us for the minimum period of six months, attend group meetings at Richard House and respond to questions and issues as they arise. Supervision will be provided.
