Welcome to our family hub. This is an area for families who use our services to find out what’s been happening and what’s coming up at Richard House.

New and exciting in 2018 from care…….

Care Support Services had a fabulous Festive season, with no less than three pantos, a Christmas party, a frozen party and lots of mince pies.  In 2018 we will be building on our regular events and will be hosting a range of activities for all the family.  Further details will follow for events which need a date!

You must book your place prior to attendance. 

Sensory Storytelling & Singalong, Wednesdays, 2.00pm-3.00pm

Beckton Children’s Centre will be facilitating this sensory based activity every Wednesday afternoon in the sensory room.  Aimed at under 5s and older children with additional needs, join us for adventures in colour, sound and touch. Children are required to be supervised by a parent or carer.

Messy Play, Thursdays, 2.00pm-3.15pm

Beckton Children’s Centre will be facilitating this messy afternoon every Thursday.  Expect children to go home happy, tired, and very messy! Children are required to be supervised by a parent or carer.

Wellness Wednesdays – afternoons

Wellness Wednesdays will continue with a range of activities aimed at improving the emotional wellbeing of parents and carers.

Holiday fun – Half term and Easter

Half term and Easter Holidays will be full of family activities to enjoy at the hospice.  Children must be supervised by a parent or carer, and siblings are welcome.  Look out for our holiday programme coming soon.

Siblings Day – Half Term and Easter

The siblings told us they really wanted to go trampolining, so we’re off to Flip Out at February Half Term.  Let us know if you have a child who would like to be included in siblings events.

Youth Group @ St Francis – 3rd Wednesday of every month

We’re delighted to be working with St Francis who will be running a youth group to offer social opportunities to young people aged 16+.

Advanced Film Making – As planned by film makers

Together2012 facilitate this advanced group aimed at previous attendees of Living Films, with some film making experience.

Family Days – Half Term and Easter

We will host our regular holiday family activity days, bringing the family together for food, fun and frolics!

Under 5s Music Therapy Group – Friday Afternoons

Join Amelia, our music therapist for a group session supporting under 5s with development, social and communication skills.

One to One Therapy – As and when

Contact Amelia (Music), Anna (Bereavement and Dance/Movement) or Nicola (Art) to book in.

Bereavement support Group – Monthly

A monthly group to support bereaved parents, focussing on building back up.  This is a closed group for which invites will be sent.

Transition – As and when

We are pleased to be able to reignite our transition service and will be contacting young people aged 14+ over the coming year to see how we maybe to support during the transition to adult services.  If you would like to access support, please contact Nikki, otherwise we will be in touch!
