Volunteer van driver
What’s the role?
Richard House has six busy charity shops in East London and Essex. Each shops rely on the generosity of the local community to donate goods to sell and on teams of volunteers to keep the shops trading. This includes the distribution of goods between shops and to and from the general public. Your role would be to drive our hospice van collecting and delivering small items of furniture and other items donated to the hospice shops.
Your shift will start and end at Richard House in Beckton. During your shift you will be expected to drive the hospice van between our shops, to companies, and customers/donors homes throughout East London and parts of Essex.
What skills do I need?
For insurance purposes you will need a minimum 24 months driving experience with full clean license to drive up to 3.5 tonne box van as well as you need to be physically capable of lifting and moving items of furniture. Team work is essential so we are looking for someone friendly, reliable and hardworking, someone who is willing to learn and happy to work as part of a team.
How much time will it take?
We ask a minimum of 4 hrs, between 9am to 4pm (great if available for longer)
