Volunteer distribution assistant
What’s the role?
The Richard House Children’s Hospice retail business has six busy charity shops. The shops rely on the generosity of the local community to donate goods to sell and on teams of volunteers to keep the shops trading. This includes the distribution of goods between shops and to and from the general public. Your role would be to assist our volunteer van driver/s with collecting and delivering small items of furniture and other items donated to the Hospice shops.
Your shift will start and end at the hospice in Beckton and during your shift you will be expected to travel alongside a volunteer van driver on the hospice van between our shops, to companies, and customers/donors homes throughout East London and parts of Essex.
What skills do I need?
No experience is required as full training will be given but you do need to be physically capable of lifting and moving items of furniture. Team work is essential so we are looking for friendly, reliable, hardworking, adaptable people who are willing to learn and are happy to work as part of a team.
How much time will it take?
Minimum weekly commitment 1 x 4 hour shift but preferably 3 x 4 shifts per week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
