I joined Richard House in 2015 as Head of Care and took over as Director of Family and Care Services in 2017. I am keen jogger and love the outdoors. At weekends, when I am not at Richard House, I spend quality time with my children and my two gorgeous grandchildren.
It was a childhood dream of mine to become a doctor and to work with children, and I ended up becoming a specialised children’s nurse. I was born in South Africa and have lived in the UK for 12 years. Most of my career I worked in paediatric intensive care. I came to Richard House from the Harley Street Clinic where I was a modern matron for paediatric services, covering complex care, oncology, paediatric intensive care and congenital heart disease.
As Director of Family and Care services I am committed to providing a caring and safe environment where my care team can excel, allowing families to feel they can trust us with their precious children.
What I like most about Richard House is that it feels like a second home and I am glad that many families feel the same way too. I have a wonderful care and support team who really do put the children and their families at the heart of their day to day work.
My goal is to reach as many children and families who need us, within the resources we have available. Hospice at Home is moving us towards this, as we can go out into our communities and provide what the children and family need, where they need it most.
