We bring joy to children and their families.
We’re not just a hospice; we’re a source of hope, a community of love, and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
We firmly believe that joy is a universal language that transcends illness and adversity. It’s the laughter of children playing, the smiles of parents finding strength, and the happiness that comes from knowing you’re making a difference.

Opened back in 2000 by our Life-President Anthea Hare
At the heart of Richard House stands a remarkable individual, our founder and life-president, Anthea Hare.
As a pediatrician nurse at the Royal London Hospital at Whitechapel, Anthea witnessed the struggles and challenges faced by children with complex medical needs and their families. She was also inspired by the love and devotion she shared with her parents in caring for her severely autistic brother.
Through her experiences as a sister, a nurse, and a visionary, Anthea saw the need for a place like Richard House where children, irrespective of their condition, could experience the joys of childhood, and families could find respite and support.
Richard House Today: a beacon of love and support
Richard House has blossomed into a symbol of hope, compassion, and unwavering support for children and families facing life-limiting health conditions.
Today, we are more than just a hospice; we are a vibrant community dedicated to illuminating the lives of remarkable children.
